vaneMs Vanessa Jaravaza is AFRODAD's Administrative Assistant. She joined the organisation in September 2016.

In this role Vanessa will contribute to the achievement of AFRODAD mission and goals by providing strategic management and technical support in the development and implementation of human resources systems, policies and procedures; overseeing and coordinating the provision of efficient administrative and logistical services to other functions and units.

Prior to joining AFRODAD, Vanessa worked for companies in the advertising and media industry as well as Willowvale Mazda Motor Industries. She has a marketing background and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM). .

tirivanganiTirivangani Mutazu is the interim Head of Programmes and Senior Policy Analyst responsible for the Debt Management Thematic Area. The key objective of this portfolio is to contribute to finding sustainable solutions to the African debt crisis and the aversion of future debts. Under this portfolio Tiri takes the lead on issues around responsible borrowing, fair and transparent arbitration debt mechanism and publicly supported private finance. Tiri has vast experience on debt issues having joined AFRODAD as Programme Assistant in 2000. Since then, he has been working in research and advocacy teams campaigning for debt arbitration, inclusive loan contraction processes, unconditional cancellation of illegitimate and odious debts, development debt swaps, impact of HIPC debt relief initiatives, PRSPs, and prudent debt management by African countries.

In 2006 Tiri was seconded to the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) in Oslo, Norway to advise NCA on developing countries’ debt issues. His responsibilities included; integrating debt and economic justice issues into other NCA programmes and assisting NCA in articulating illegitimate debt issues within the international network and the ecumenical movement. Tiri holds a Masters in International Relations from the University of Zimbabwe. He also has a Post Graduate Certificate in International Development Studies from the University of Oslo and Bsc (Hons) Degree in Political Science from the University of Zimbabwe. Emmanuella Matare, is Policy Analyst for DRM (Tax Justice, Extractives and Illicit Financial Flows). She is responsible for the implementation of activities within the portfolio through policy research and advocacy in line with the AFRODAD Strategic Plan.  

Prior to joining AFRODAD, Emmanuella worked as  Research Economist with the USAID Strategic Economic Research and Analysis (SERA) Program (Zimbabwe) for 5years where she acquired vast knowledge and experience in evidence based socio-economic policy development, economic governance, training and monitoring and evaluation. Earlier, she worked for the Southern African Research and Documentation Centre (SARDC) as a Researcher Writer, CARE International in Zimbabwe as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the University of Zimbabwe as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Emmanuella holds a Master of Science Degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe.

taurai chiraeraeTaurai Chiraerae is the Policy Analyst in the International Public Finance (IPF) Thematic Area. His roles are to provide policy intelligence and to coordinate the IPF portfolio policy inputs, research, campaigning and advocacy; ensuring that AFRODAD policy products are usable at national, regional and international levels.

Taurai has served the organisation at various levels for more than four years as Programmes intern, Programmes Consultant on Debt Profiles, Programmes Research Assistant for Debt and Development Aid issues and Programmes Officer for Domestic Debt Taurai has experience in lobby and advocacy having represented AFRODAD and advanced its mandate at various forums and platforms.

He holds a BA in History and Development studies and a Masters in International Affairs from Midlands State University (MSU).

niceFidélité Nshimiyimana is a seasoned innate communicator who holds a Master’s Degree in Communication for Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Daystar University.

She has worked for a number of development organizations such as the Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network (EPN); Christian Blind Mission (CBM); African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) among others.

Fidélité is multilingual (English, French, Swahili and other local languages) and she likes exploring new and better ways of working. She says “I am very convinced that AFRODAD is one of the best and professional organizations in Africa and I am proudly associated with it”.
