AFRODAD Leadership Transition Announcement

We are pleased to share an important update regarding the leadership of AFRODAD.

After five (5) years of dedicated service, Jason Braganza has decided to leave AFRODAD from his role as Executive Director. Jason’s tenure has been marked by remarkable achievements, from navigating the complex challenges of the COVID-19 period to strengthening strategic partnerships and guiding the implementation of our 2021–2025 Strategic Plan. His steady leadership and deep commitment have shaped the organisation in lasting ways, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his contribution.

As we look to the future, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. YUNGONG, Theophilus Jong (Theo), to act as Interim Executive Director, while processes to recruit a new Executive Director are underway. Theo has worked at AFRODAD for several years, and he is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), with a record of leadership, innovation, and a shared passion for advancing the organisation’s mission. We are confident that under his leadership, the organisation will continue to build on the strong foundation laid by Jason and take our shared impact to even greater heights. His experience and vision will play a pivotal role in steering the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact.

We invite all our partners, supporters, and friends to join us in welcoming Theo to this role and to continue working alongside us to build on the strong foundation laid under Jason’s leadership and other Directors before him. The journey ahead remains exciting, and with your continued collaboration, we are confident that together, we will reach new heights in contributing to a prosperous and sustainable African continent.
